Hairdressing Students Impress Industry Professionals

Hollywood starlets, gumnut babies and horror movie ghouls were on show when student hairdressers celebrated their graduation at Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE last week.
The occasion was SQIT's graduation dinner for Certificate III in Hairdressing students. Graduates Emily Mahoney, Rebekah Peters and Lucy Siggs were joined by other current Certificate III students to present a colourful display of exotic hair designs and costumes.
The students chose themes which included Hollywood icons, the Wizard of Oz and Michael Jackson's Thriller video and styled their models' hair accordingly.
Models paraded the styles before family, friends and teachers.
Hairdressing industry professionals and potential employers were on hand to view the quality and diversity of the students' TAFE's industry-focussed training.
